I wear these with water hiking sandals at the park so I can just walk into the lake with my dog. Very comfortable and not hot. But the comfort and breathability are not great. First there is a seamless seems that runs all the way across your foot it’s not big deal but annoying. Forget running an ultra in that you will have blisters like you wouldn’t believe. They don’t breath much if at all. It breaths less than goretex and you sweat will remain trapped inside. Conclusion is that it’s better to wear this when stepping in a puddle of water than regular socks but you would be better off with goretex socks or shoes.Great until they started to leak 10 minutes into hiking through snow and streams in Banff. But at least they had enough insulation to keep my feet from freezing in my trail runners. Great idea.I tried them in the bath at home after to make sure it wasn’t water running over the top. Nope.Wearing the socks alone will probably not be warm enough because insulation, but wearing just 1 pair of normals sock inside of the waterproof sock makes wonders. I was pretty skeptical of purchasing the socks because I've never heard of waterproof socks. They work great, I can step in water, walk through snow and create an air pocket within the sock, so very waterproof.Unfortunately these socks did not live up to the declaration of water resistant or water proof. I literally rung the water out of these socks after kayaking.
